Nowadays the blockchain gaming industry faces an important turning point. Until now, the most popular crypto games were non-enjoyable clickers with zero playability. Running games on blockchain imposes several restrictions, but also offers great opportunities if you're attentive and flexible enough.

A different approach to blockchain gaming

For the past 10 years we've been building games and that gives us a different perspective on blockchain gaming. Integrating our games with dozens of our client's SDKs taught us the way to build a more flexible structure for crypto games. Blockchain offers an excellent set of tools that can bring profitability to players (tokens, NFTs, secure and fast payments, traceability) but also has a downside (smart contract signing, non immediacy, transaction costs, network resource consumption). Thanks to our hybrid model that relies both on web2 + web3 resources we can leave behind the clunkiness of blockchain while keeping the games genuinely fun and engaging.

The Future of crypto games

As we've mentioned, our industry is in constant evolution. The first wave of crypto games was too restrained by the blockchain limitations, which promoted the arrival of tons of dapps that called themselves games but felt more like pointless chores. When tokens eventually start to tank, the lack of playability and genuine engagement becomes painfully obvious.

Instant profitability has been the main driver of blockchain games at the expense of gameplay, but without a fun factor, meaningful social features or some kind of engaging element, blockchain games can't be sustainable. In the past, scammers or simply cheeky developers have built disappointing dapps relying on hype and fake profitabilities which eventually lead to rug pulls and users getting churned.

Our statement is quite simple. If we want a sustainable crypto gaming industry we must have entertaining games. In ClashDome we know that Play-to-Earn has room to offer players the gaming experience they deserve.
